Colonel Liesl Carter is currently first officer at United Postal Service (UPS) in Anchorage, Alaska. In 2001, Carter was working in the Pentagon when terrorists attacked the building. As an initial responder, she aided in the recovery efforts and in subsequent days assisted with the development of the Grand Military Strategy for the Global War on Terrorism. She also served as a KC-135 air refueling tanker pilot and logged more than 2,800 flying hours with combat tours supporting operations in Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan. In her role at UPS, Carter flies B-747–400 cargo missions worldwide.
