From Nimbawaadaan Akiing / I Dream a World by Margaret Noodin
believe in tomorrow together.
Dreaming is holy. Holy is looking at what is and dreaming of what could be. This poem was written in the spirit of Langston Hughes and the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. – men who looked at what was and dreamed for something more.
It seems right to dream right now for many reasons. It seems right to reflect on our capacity for change, growth, and compassion. It seems right to reaffirm our commitment to building, creating, and loving. It seems right to look around at the flowers blooming, the days growing longer, the world’s health being restored, and ask, “Why not?”
To dream is a holy gift.
