Life, the Internet, and Everything
“We are flying too low. We built this universe, this technology, these connections, this society, and all we can do with it is make junk? All we can do with it is put on stupid entertainments? I’m not buying it.”
Seth Godin On Being
We must ask ourselves for more. We must ask ourselves not to settle for the already invented, written, created. We must ask ourselves to consider the not yet, the as if, and the I am. We must ask ourselves, “Are we leaving our world a better place than we found it?” and set about to do so. We must see the pie as large enough for everyone and live generously. We must take advantage of every muscle and synapse to raise a ruckus for the better. We must fly higher.
Kindness and compassion live in the clouds. Imagination and creativity live in the clouds. Dreams and desire live in the clouds. Wisdom and understanding live in the clouds. Patience and urgency live in the clouds. Enough and more live in the clouds. Trees and reefs live in the clouds. Past, present, and future live in the clouds.
The challenge is to be still and know clouds. The challenge is to accept the invitation of clouds. The challenge is to weave clouds into the fabric of our days as we make our way. Perhaps the clouds are our way. I like to think they are, much like a mission, calling, or passion are our way.
