Least Complicated
The hardest to learn was the least complicated
From Indigo Girls “Least Complicated“
Life is beautiful and hard. It’s beauty can be breathtaking, and the hard parts can be crushing. That being said, it does not have to be that hard. Let me explain some wisdom that was shared with me in Bali, “You don’t have to carry that weight.” That is the least complicated, easiest truth I know.
We don’t have to carry that weight. We don’t have to carry that weight because you are surrounded by love. We don’t have to carry that weight because faith and hope and light are fierce and abiding and strong. We don’t have to carry that weight because we possess the wisdom of the river. We don’t have to carry that weight because life is a miracle. We don’t have to carry that weight because we have the capacity to serve.
It all becomes less complicated when we remember love multiplies. In loving we are loved. In giving we are given. In breathing, we receive breath. In surrendering to the hard, it all becomes less complicated. Surrendering in love, not in paralysis or fear or doubt. In the face of hard, remember to breathe. Breath is source. In the face of hard, plant we must plant our feet and soften our gaze to include everything and nothing. The everything and nothing is a window through hard. In the midst of the hard, soften. Once through hard, we must allow ourselves to heal. We must do this again and again and again until the complicated becomes something else. Perhaps scar tissue. Perhaps star dust. Perhaps wisdom. Perhaps light.
