Weekly Wide-Awake: Podcasts I Loved in 2022
He who would learn to fly one day must first learn to stand and walk and run and climb and dance; one cannot fly into flying.
Friedrich Nietzsche
Podcasts teach my to fly. They have been communication in times of isolation. They have been wisdom in times of deep questioning. The have been comfort in times of grief. They have been joy in times of sorrow. They have been quiet in times of noise. They have been attention in times of distraction. They have been beauty in times of ugliness. They have been food in the time of hunger. They have been hope in times of despair.
The podcasts in this Weekly Wide-Awake are beautiful in the way that beauty connects us with our world.
They include:
A remembrance of Thich Nhat Hanh.
A conversation between bell hooks and Cornel West.
Seth Godin teaching us about taking our turn.
Richard Rohr instructing us how to hold on and let go.
Bono speaking truth to power.
On Being’s reflection on 20 years of living the questions.
Curiosity permeates every fiber of my being. I am the proverbial empty bowl singing to be filled. I am the twisting kaleidoscope trying to make sense of fractured glass and light. I am kintsugi gold connecting broken pieces together with intention and detail. I will continue to listen to podcasts as I learn to stand and walk and run and climb and dance.
