Summer
Last summer, two discrete young snakes left their skin on my small porch, two mornings in a row. Being post-modern now, I pretended as if I did not see them, nor understand what I knew to be circling inside me.
From “Summer” by Robin Costa Lewis
Creating, expanding, growing, shedding, circling, and forming. That is the wide-awakeness. Wide-awakeness is a snake molting. Creating a new self from the old. Expanding beyond a previous form. Growing as a perfect and natural and beautiful process. Shedding old thoughts and ways and ideas for something else. Circling inside like intuition and instinct and knowing. Forming a new shape in perfect time.
All of it moves as we walk through our days. Pay attention to the seasons and stories and invitations. Feel the falling apart and coming together, the beauty and terror of it all. Know love is the heart.
