Weekly Wide-Awake: April Come She Will
April, come she will
From Simon and Garfunkel’s “April Come She Will”
When streams are ripe and swelled with rain
May, she will stay
Resting in my arms again
April has come.
I am thinking of Simon and Garfunkel’s “April Come She Will” (The lyrics of which are an English nursery rhyme about a cuckoo bird retiring in spring.)
I am thinking of my trip to Bali in April of 2013, and the offerings I made there.
I am thinking of finding love in spring. Listen to Blosson Dearie singing, “They Say It’s Spring.” Here are the lyrics.
Spring is also a holy time. I ask myself the question “What Is Holy?” I think about the faith that comes in spring after winter rain.
