Weekly Wide-Awake: Cover Me In Sunshine
Cover me in sunshine
from Pink and Willow Sage Hart, “Cover Me In Sunshine”
Shower me with good times
Tell me that the world’s been spinning since the beginning
And everything will be alright
Cover me in sunshine
This week I welcome spring. I welcome new life, rebirth, waking up, potential, and green. I welcome sunshine and light. Listen to Pink and her daughter Willow Sage Hart sing, “Cover Me In Sunshine.” Listen to Jimmy Cliff sing “I Can See Clearly Now.” Thoreau’s essay, “Walking.” reminds me of the beauty and necessity of being in the nature world. That seems particularly important in spring.
As my month reading and writing about the poetry of Mary Oliver draws to a close, I accept her “Invitation” to “Blossom” in “Spring.” Read our thoughts.
My latest Elephant Journal essay, Gratitude On Fire, was published this first week of spring, too.
